Seafarer Seabeam II
Seafarer Navigation Interninal Ltd Seabeam II Radio Direction Finder.
I have two Radio Direction Finders from Seafarer; this one and the Seafix. This instruments seems a predecessor of the Seafix as it is tuned with older style 'push' buttons rather than the digital display of the Seafix. It also requires more batteries (8 AA type in series - 12 V); however this does make it feel more sturdy. Otherwise it is quite similar to the Seafix in set-up. It has a magnetic compass on top and requires a pair of headphones for operation. I even obtained the original foam but the (probably) paper exterior is missing as is the manual. I never intended to purchase this but it was part of a larger buy including the Ebbco station pointer (which I really wanted).
