Very large (and heavey) high accuracy machine level in a fitted wooden box. At first I though of putting this in my collection but on second thought I added it to my toolchest. It is not something often used but I have nothing else of this accuracy for levelling very precisely in two dimensions. The next best is the large dual ruler / level.
The level has been used in the Netherlands before according to the tekst 'Slijperij' on the transport label inside the box. As 'Slijperij' means 'Grinding workshop' in English it must have indeed come from a machine works.
