Switch clock
Switching clock
Obtained from the UK
We picked this up as part of a larger lot containing a small half size Cary sextant that ended up in the collection as well. The clock was a bonus but still interesting. This is the predecessor of the elektro mechanical (and nowadays digital) switch clock. It can siwtch a power signal 'in' or 'out' using a mechanical clock which rotates a lever. That lever either engages or disengages a spring allowing the current to run through the two terminals. Altough it is easy to figure out how it should work the clock mechnism is not driving the 'hands' on this one. Also the bakelite plate holding the spring is broken.
