Philip Harris training sextant
Philip Harris of Birmingham training sextant
Small training sextant from Philip Harris. The company still exists and still sells scientific equipment for educational use. This model is however no longer on sale, so dating it is difficult.
What sets this one apart from most other training sextants is that it can be adjusted for index error using an adjustment lever on the bottom. The lever is a bit similar to those found on old octants although in this case the whole mirror assembly is shifted rather than the mirror itself being rotated. The sextant has a single (red) filter for the eyepiece.
