Hughes flying boat sextant
Small brass flying boat sextant
Product details: Hughes flying boat sextant | Henry Hughes and Son | Sextant | Military | Material: Brass
This type of half size sextant by Hughes and Son was used in the RAF flying boats. This specific model differs from others that I have seen (and the other in my collection) in that it has the, more modern, sealed mirrors rather than the simple square mirrors. What also makes this sextant different is that it is not marked 'AM' and as such may not have been in actual use in the RAF but sold to a private owner. The sextant is complete with case and accesoires.
