H. Hughes and Son station pointer

Small station pointer with extension legs made by H. Hughes and Son. The instrument has no vernier or micrometer and was probably used mainly for coastal navigation rather than surveying. It is one of the older instruments in my collection based on its serial and another example of a similar serial number in the collection of the Naval museum in Den Helder (NL).
