Abney level & Compass
Combination abney level + compass
This is a strange instrument, combining an abney level for vertical angles with a magnetic compass for horizontal angles. As a result it can full fill the role of a boussole theodolite but with a limited accuracy. The compass has a separate visor and is mounted on top of a regular abney level. The box it came in is probably not the original box as most of these instruments would have a leather carrying case rather than a box.
