Distance measuring wedge DM1
I had been looking for a while to obtain a DM1 to complete the set with the distance staff. With the distance wedge attached to for example a T1 or T2 theodolite, an accurate distance can be measured using the distance staff. The distance wedge operated on the same principle as the plan parallel plate wedge in that on of the two plates moves one of the wedges over an angle thus allowing the difference in distance to be determined using the graduations on the staff.
