This T1 came with both the containers; both the metal canister (orange, as with the same era T16) and the outer, padded, shipping box. It does make the system bulky but it survived the trip to my home without any problems. However the instrument does have a problem; that is the focus knob of the cross hairs is not working (it seems to have had a hit?). The good news is that the cross hairs are in focus for my eyes and the instrument can still be used (still need to test it for accuracy / other damage). It did come without a tribach, but as it fits all other tribachs this is not a problem. The handle on top is also missing and possibly the source of the other damage (it seems to have broken of). Having said that, I did not pay top dollar for this instrument and it was the only missing T1 in the series (which is now complete). If a better one shows up I may buy it.

What is curious about the bullit case (as with the T16) is the poor construction that is not of Wild Heerbrugg. Replacing the clamps from previous models with the push down version on this and the T16 gives dents in the outer casing of the instrument. Even though the clamps are rubberized they still give to much pressure.
