This is an attempt by F Barker to revive the box sextant. Technically it is not a sextant but rather a quintant as it can read up to 140 degrees. It has a vernier which can be read to whole minutes using the magnifier. The instrument is just as good as any box sextant (which means it is terrible for navigation on a moving yacht due to the small mirrors). Mine is a 'combined' purchase as I first bought one which did not have the telescope but did have the leather case. Later I found one that actually came in a luxury box and had an additional telescope. I combined both sets (the leather case and telescope were orginally accesoires, so I felt I did not 'change' history here) and sold the other instrument as it was.
