Wild Heerbrugg SST4 tripod
Small field tripod from Wild Heerbrugg
Very small tripod (and light) tripod used for military purposes considering the dark green colour. Never seen one before and I have no idea what the instrument was that went with it. Could be a distance measuring device or set of binoculars? The tripod is a bit high for lying behind it and very low for standing, so it seems to be made for kneeling behind an instrument. Technically that can be any instrument, and in the commercial world small tripods have been used to survey in narrow / low spaces or to get very low elevations. However, in the military I'm assuming this was more for remaining undetected than for a lack of working height?
