This instrument, which is labeld as 'not correct' is actually still working but needs to be recalibrated. It came complete with the measuring staff and tripod but the original (leather) pouch is missing. It as been replaced by a hand made wooden box. The staff has been well used with the graduations mostly worn away. It is not a very accurate instrument but one of the forebears of the now common automatic level. This one was originally sold by Gadella in Utrecht. I purchased it from the, now retired, contractor who bought it back then and heavily used it in the intervening years. He was also the contractor who made the wooden box that came with it (actually three of them were for sale and this was the most complete).
