The first infrared distomat from Wild Heerbrugg, this model was developed jointly with Sercel. In contrast with later models, this one is part optomechanical in its reading. There is no option for distance reduction (slant to horizontal) and the procedures are quite cumbersome. The later models are 'point and click' where in this one the system first needs to be calibrated before a measurement can be taken. The system still 'works' but no longer produces sensible distance measurements as far as I can tell. Missing the converter to mount the head to a theodolite also making correct tests very hard.
