Wild Heerbrugg autocollimation eyepiece
Product details: Wild Heerbrugg autocollimation eyepiece | Wild Heerbrugg | Instrument acc. | Survey | Material: Brass
The autocollimation eyepiece is an attachment to the bayonet style theodolites like the T1 and the T1a in my collection. It has a semi transparant mirror that allows both the direct ray as well as one under an angle of 90 degrees. The 90 degree has a light attached allowing light to exit the lens of the instrument while still making sighting possible. Autocollimation is used for accurate measurements where the image of the cross hairs from the telescope is allowed to reflect of a distand mirror. The direct image of the crosshairs ánd the reflected must coincide; if this is the case the mirror is exatly aligned with the instrument. Autocollimation is often used in very exact engineering applications (or for the calibration of instruments). The T3-AM and M39 in my collection is fitted as a standard with an autocollimation setup.
The only thing missing from the eyepiece is the light tube.
