Product details: Fairchild A10A Aircraft sextant | Fairchild Aviation | Octant | Military | Material: Aluminium
Small aircraft sextant with a bubble horizon. The sextant can take a number of readings by inscribing them with a pencil on the round paper chart. It has lightning using a separate, flashlight like, body holding standard batteries. Mine is complete with all the accesoires (not yet shown in the pictures). It was one of the most common air sextants during WWII and was in use untill well into the 1950s. The sextant uses a prism rather than a mirror and the angles are read from a counter. The sextant is either from 1943 or from a contract signed in 1943 according to the label.
