Wild Heerbrugg NT3
Wild Heerbrugg NT3. Obtained from Hungary
I obtained this T3 together with the NT2 from the same era / year of built. The instrument came with all its accesoires (one of the main reasons for buying it). This specific example was used in the Hungarian cartographic office where they were to be scrapped. The father of the hungarian whom I bought this from saved the instrument but unfortunately stored them in his attic. Having bought it at distance I was aware of the sorry state it was in. Upon arrival it turned out to be even worse than I had imagined. The telescope is riddled with fungus, the paint is blistering due to corrosion and everything rotating required some 'persuasion' to get to work. The glass scales are unreadable due to dust (hopefully it is dust and not more fungus). The body has signs of corrosion all over. In other words, the instrument will never 'live' again unless a complete overhaul can bring (some of it) back to life.
The accesoires are a gem though. All (or almost all) were present which is a rare thing after almost 70 years. The only thing missing is the 40x magnification eyepiece. The 24x magnification was still in its original holder (which was really stuck). Two lamps were included of a different type than the later lamps for my other T3A-M and T21. Also a diagonal prism for both the telescope and microscope are included which are built along the same lines as those for the NT2 inlcuding the filter glass for the eyepiece.
