Wild Heerbrugg TM10
50 cm baseline coincidence rangefinder from Wild including the optional tripod stand. Obtained from the US together with carrying case
Product details: Wild Heerbrugg TM10 | Wild Heerbrugg | Stadimeter | Survey |
This instrument is a smaller version of the TM2 and was used for medium to long ranges. It is a traditional coincidence rangefinder wich could take some extra accesoires such as a mount for a proper tripod allowing it to be used for surveying. What was quite surprising is that, altough obtained in the US, this specific instrument was actually once sold in the Netherlands according to the 'Ahrend NV' sign on the carrying case.
The tripod stand was obtained separately and allows the instrument to be used as a (coarse) theodolite / distance combination (not a tachymeter as the distances are not reduced to a horizontal distance). The angular measurements of the tripod stand are not very precise with a reading resolution of at best 0.1 degree (6 minutes). It is more accurate that those of the level instruments but comes nowhere near those of even the least precise theodolite in my collection. The rotating horizontal scale allows repeated measurements (or setting a 'zero' direction) on the instrument.
