Wild Heerbrugg N1 / NK1
The baby Wild small level.
Product details: Wild Heerbrugg N1 / NK1 | Wild Heerbrugg | Simple theodolite | |
The N1 / NK1 was produced as the 'budget' model of the Wilds of early. Together with the N2 and the N3 the made the original product line. The N1 was from the 1930 untill 1951 and then replaced by the N10 / NK10. After the N10 / NK10 a new (orange) version of the N1 / NK1 was produced along similar lines. The N1 / NK1 looks slightly dated but also is the model that 'shows' best of my modern levels due to all the visible details. Later models eliminated many of the small details by hiding them. The horizontal circle is made from glass and read through a microscope. As there are a few years between these two instruments, the mounting method in the case seems to have changed; where the NK1 uses a sliding lock under the tribach, the N1 uses a set of three 'knobs' that lock the instrument in place.
