Zenith and nadir plummet instrument. Obtained from the Netherlands.
Product details: Wild Heerbrugg ZNL16 | Wild Heerbrugg | Squares | |
The Zenith and Nadir plummet instrument is essentially a combination of a level instrument with an optical square. The instrument is levelled out as if it was a regular tilting level (for the ZNL; other instruments have a compensator). Using the rotating knob a prism allows the line of sight to be made perpendicular up or down to the instrument horizontal. The accuracy of this instrument is around 3.3 mm every 100 m. A specific use would be to bring a point up or down a (highrise) building.
