Stanley optical square
Small optical mirror square marked 'British made'
Product details: Stanley optical square | Stanley London | Squares | | Material: Brass
Sold as an apocemometer (a 45 degree device to measure heights) it actually turned out to be an optical square. In contrast to all the other squares this one does not use a pentaprism but a set of mirrors. The concept is the same as that of a box sextant with the difference that the index mirror does not rotate but is fixed. Both mirrors can be adjusted.
The case and square are both marked 'E.K.Bridge'. I have not been able to find any information about this name.
