Wild Heerbrugg KM
Product details: Wild Heerbrugg KM | Wild Heerbrugg | Tilting levels | Survey |
The Wiild Cathetometcr is an instrument for the exact measurement of vertical distances, and was mostly used in physical laboratories for determining differences and variations of columns of liquids.
This is probably the rarest instrument from Wild Heerbrugg that I have in my collection. It is essentially a standard N01 ('Baby Wild') level that slides along a glass scale of 1 m long (divided into tenths of millimeters). The scale is read using a microscope as one would the glass circle on a regular N01. The instrument can be leveled as a regular dumpy level and the whole column can rotate around its base which even includes a fine adjustment (and a circular vial). The height of the instrument can be adjusted by moving the whole scale up or down 1 cm. Total weight is around 25 kg.
Unfortunately the glass scale broke in transport and I still need to see if I can piece it together / get it repaired. It will never be correct again but at least the functioning can then be demonstrated again.
