Wild Heerbrugg NK0
Wild Heerbrugg NK0, forerunner to the NK01
This level was developed, just as the N(K)01 as a builders level. However, where the NK01 has a large horizontal scale, the NK0 only has a small sclae under the body allowing only the crudest measurements. Other than that, it is very similar to the NK01 which obviously solves this issue. Horizontal scales on a level are not very accurate at best, but this instrument manages to have scale marks only to 5 degrees, making estimating to better than 1 to 1.5 degree impossible. To compare, the NK01 has scale marks every 1 degree, allowing estimates of up to a third of a degree. Even at a small site, 1 degree horizontally would give a horizontal error of around 43 cm at 25 meters. The NK01 brings this down to around 0.15 m. Still a lot, but much more useful in the real world.
I actually overlooked this model and may have passed a few off as NK01's before I noticed this one. This of course due to the many similairites to the NK01. What is definitely different is the case, the NK0 takes the case from the latter models of the NK1 rather than the NK01 which takes the case from the NK10 range. A bit typical is the serial number. One would expect this to be labeled as NK0-67868. Instead it reads N0-67868K.
