Wild Heerbrugg N01 / NK01
Small construction type tilting level.
Product details: Wild Heerbrugg N01 / NK01 | Wild Heerbrugg | Simple theodolite | |
The NK01 / N01 was the most simple (and least accurate) tilting level produced by Wild Heerbrugg. It is also the only one that has a mirror for watching the levelling vial centre. Though faster to read it lacks the coincidence of the two bubble ends that the other levels have and makes levelling it much harder. The horizontal cirle on the K models is a simple graduated rim with a pointer, not the more elaborate glass circle and microscope reading of the more accurate models. For standard work it is good enough though.
It was later replaced by the 'orange' N01. I have bought one of these and donated it to the MIWB at Terschelling where I teach. Together with a N1 it serves as a level for measuring the alignment of the motion reference unit; something which can only be done with a tilting level. In the same manner I have donated an NK10 to Skilltrade in IJmuiden. You will not find the orange one in my collection as I refuse to collect the orange (or Leica only) instruments.
