Weems and Plath prism survey sextant 360
Weems and Plath survey or sounding sextant with prism.
Product details: Weems and Plath prism survey sextant 360 | Weems and Plath | Sextant | Survey | Material: Aluminium
Another former US Coast Guard survey sextant this one came with the box in a very sorry state (it is falling apart and needs urgent reparation) as well as a prism. This actually was the first prism that I obtained and is a standard C.Plath prism (as is the sextant, which was rebranded Weems and Plath for US use). The sextant came complete with the (optional) vertical handle, brush and hex wrench for adjusting the mirrors. Although it looks very similar to my other C.Plath survey sextants it is of a later model as it has the more modern single piece drum rather than the drum with a separate rotation knob and scale of the former models. The ladder pattern frame is the same though and differs from the other Weems and Plath which has the circle and lattice frame.
