A few years ago a number of former USCG survey sextants (US Coast Guard) came onto the market. I bought two of them as they had frame patterns that were not in my collection yet. Basically these are C.Plath sextants that were 'rebranded' in the US. The scale still shows the 'made in germany' and the telescope is of german origin as well. This sextant did not come with the original case but with a replacement plastic case that hardly fits the sextant.
