Davis speed-time-distance calculator
Davis speed-time-distance calculator
Obtained from the US
This calculator came together with a sextant and other accesoires and was once part of a Davis gift set (according to the 1973 cataloque) which also included an artifical horizon, parallel ruler and pair of compasses. This one was taped to a backboard and probably used for display in a classroom or similar. The instrument is a simple set of rotating discs allowing the user to set two of the three variables speed, time and distance and then read the third variable. Considering it is from before the handheld calculator it is faster than learning how to use a slide rule.
