This sextant is a copy of the German Sold Luftwaffe sextant as the EAS3 is a copy of the KM2 Kriegsmarine Sold. It is so similar to the Luftwaffe Sold that the telescope that came with the SOLD fits this instrument like a glove (the one for this instrument was missing). It operates the same as the German Sold although some controls have been slightly changed. The sextant is in good working order (including the clock averager mechanism). The batteries that came with the SOLD box for the Luftwaffe where a direct fit (but unfortunately empty) and vice versa, the battery holder of the EAS1 fits the Luftwaffe Sold.
One thing I'm not to sure about is the name / abbreviation. The box seems to be labeled NAC in Russian which would translate to EAS but could also be EDS. As my Russian is not good enough I do not get any further than the 'S' standing for sextant.
