This steel protractor is of a somewhat unusual form. It is graded from 0-180 in both directions with a vernier and tangent screw for setting it to an exact angle. The upper side is equiped with a (detachable) blade alllowing a very sharp line to be set out. The instrument has been well used in its active life.
