The SNO-M (sometimes called the CHO-M based on its cyrrilic letters) is a soviet version / copy of the C.Plath sextant from WWII. Although it looks almost the same (and has the same telescope mount and size mirrors) there are differences in the details. One is the way the frame is constructed, the others are in the mounting of filters. See also the Sextantbook for a detailed comparison of the two. Where they really differ is the additional of a telescope with luminous paint to allow reading the drum at night.

Better photo's will follow at some point in time.
