Elliot Brothers pocket sextant
Elliot Brothers brass pocket or box sextant.
Product details: Elliot Brothers pocket sextant | Elliot Brothers | Quintant | Survey | Material: Brass
Box sextant marked 'Elliot Brothers'. Whether they made these themselves or just labeled them is up for question. Many very similar box sextants were made in the same period (around WWI), all looking the same but differently labeled. This specific one is missing the loupe to magnify the scale (and actually make it readable. It is complete with the leather pouch which is marked EHE.
Though the scale runs to 145 degrees, it can only be read up until 125 degrees, after that no image is left in the mirrors.
