Product details: Things of Science paper sextant | Things of Science | Sextant | Home / hobby | Material: Paper
Things of Science was a program started in the 1940s and running until 1989 where a subscription gave a box of scientific experiments every month. The sextant appeared (at least) twice in this series; once in the 1960s and once in the 1970s. The basic concept was the same but the two sets show some differences in detail. Both came with an extensive manual / set of instructions for experimentation with the sextant. The sextant itself had to be build and for this a template was provided as well as the parts that might have been more difficult to source such as the mirrors, a button for rotating the index arm ánd a plastic tube for creating a bubble level. Both sets are still complete and 'unused' but one of them will be build at some point in time using new parts to keept the kit intact.
