This is a die-cut paper model of a Graphometer. The graphometer is similar to the real, brass, one I have in my collection. There is a small booklet with it including some instructions. The model was designed by Paul McAlister who also did some work on the astrolabe. There are not many (paper) models of surveying instruments. Besides the one that I build shown here I also have a pristine one for future reference. The model quality is decent, however the brass pin supplied with it is much too tall. I solved this by adding a brass washer between the main body and the two paper washers supplied. It now works wel but is still hard to use due to a lack of cross hairs.
