Very small instrument compared to the other stadimeters / range finders. Mainly developed for yaghting and hunting the accuracy is limited. There is a scale to correct the readings if the object is not viewed from on but rather at an angle. The instrument can be read in ft, yards, meters and both statute and nautical miles making the scale rather confusing.
