Davis plastic station pointer
Plastic Davis vernier station pointer
Obtained from the US
Product details: Davis plastic station pointer | Davis Instruments | Station pointer | | Material: Plastic
This plastic station pointer is still used on a somewhat regular basis by my students together with a plastic Davis Mk3 (Skilltrade) or a metal Freiberger (MIWB) for plotting positions during a simple sextant exercise. As a station pointer it is accurate enough when it comes to setting of the angles. The main issue with this plastic one is that the legs cannot be clamped allowing them to slide around all the time if not properly picked up. It is still sold today by Weems and Plath as a 3-arm protractor.
