I bought this 'new old stock' instrument. As an actual instrument it is rubbish (no other word for it) but as part of my educational instruments collection it is a nice instrument. It actually fits to a tripod but has no option for levelling it, so the tripod but be perfectly level. The alhidade (or pelorus, it has two visors and a compass) rotates along a plastic scale divided into degrees. The visor is of the standard slot and thread type. The compass is more of a toy than a real compass and is divided in 10 degree steps.
