Ahildade in pristine condition. The wooden box has leather straps and lid with brass fittings and can be attached to a tripod using the straps. The alhidade has a series of pinhole sights as well as a metal wire. The sights can be folded against the frame. The metal wire can be tightened using a capstan screw. The alhidade is marked 'R.E-Co' and 'Mk II'. Finally it has the British military broad arrow mark stamped on it. Both instrument and box are complete and in very nice shape. Even the adjusting tool is still included in its small leather pocket on the outside of the box. The box itself is lined with green velvet on the inside.
Other than its military heritage nothing more has been found about it, so any other information is welcome.
