Wild Heerbrugg XIIb tripod
Wild Heerbrugg XIIb tripod.
Obtained from Australia
Probably the oldest or at least the worst looking tripod in my collection. Still a special one. This type is not listed in the Wild Heerbrugg archives but came together with a T16 theodolite. It is more sturdy than the 16b tripod in my collection. It has a leather pouch for the plumb bob where most other tripods have a canvas pouch. The legs are also tightened in a different way with the knob in the middle of the leg rather than to the sides. These knobs gave me a bit of a headache as they were rusted solid and it took quite some WD40 and force to get them rotating. Almost left this one in Australia as I was more interested in the T16 (or rather the mount on top of that) but am glad I shelled out the money to get it transported.
