This Garmin Streetpilot was given by me and my sisters to my father when he got his pension in 2005. Back then cars didn't have such a system as standard and as my father and mother were planning on longer holidays abroad a navigation system would come in handy. Having had good experience with my other two Garmin units I bought this one for them. When my father passed away in 2012 this system was still in use in his car. As my mother does not drive, I took it home with me after selling the car where it now has ended up in my collection. The unit still works although the battery is not very good anymore. It would have served as navigation system on our boat if it would have given positions, but by 2005 the makers of car navigation had understood that the average user has no clue what to do with a latitude and longitude. Too bad for me.
